In ancient times people have to know the name of god and god so that they make the building to make offerings or place of worship.

Until now the use of places of worship ancient society was still standing although there is one place of worship that is not used anymore due to old age.

1. Gobekli Tepe - Turkey


Gobekli Tepe is a place of worship is located 15 km northeast of the city Şanlıurfa (Urfa) in southeast Turkey. The site is comprised of twenty circular structures scattered hilltop.

All that remained now was a huge limestone pillars decorated with abstract designs carved animals. So far carvings of snakes, scorpions, birds, wild boar, foxes and lions have been found.

The place is now under excavation by German and Turkish archaeologists. This temple is considered to be the oldest temple ever existed in the world.

2. Hypogeum - Malta


Hypogeum is building a truly ancient. Built in the year 3500 BC, the Hypogeum is the only prehistoric temple built underground. Hypogeum have been used in various ways through history, and it has turned into a graveyard in the past.

Hypogeum is a mixture of natural caves and the caves dug over three levels. In Hypogeum there is a room that can reflect sound (echo), which, if we shout will be heard throughout the Hypogeum.

Visiting Hypogeum can not be arbitrary, the grounds maintenance of the paintings were on the walls. Only 80 visitors are allowed each day.

3. Pantheon - Roma


Pantheon is a building that was constructed in the year 27 BC as a temple of a round in the center of Rome. Construction of the temple was completed during the reign of Emperor Hadrian (118 BC-28 AD) in the year 126 AD

Hadrian built this temple to worship the Roman gods. Pantheon name comes from the Greek word meaning house All Gods.

This temple was used as a church from the year 609 until 1885 and later became the church and the burial place for the Italian national hero. Famous figures are buried here is King Emmanuel I and Renaissance painter, Raphael.

4. Ajanta Caves - India


Ajanta Caves in Maharashtra, India, is a monument to old cave abadyang stood since 2 BC, consisted of paintings and Skulptur considered a masterpiece of Buddhist religious art.

When viewed from the outside, resembling the Ajanta Caves residential area attached to the side of a circular hill. However, when you look inside, it looks exactly the charm of stone carvings of human and great pillars like a temple palace.

Given this evidence, indicates that ancient life in India has religious value and high art, despite the government's political and economic influence.

The cave is located outside the village Ajinṭhā, Aurangabad district, Maharashtra. Since 1983, the Ajanta Caves are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

5. Borobudur - Indonesia


Borobudur is the name of a Buddhist temple located in Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java. Location temple about 100 km to the southwest of Hyderabad and 40 km northwest of Yogyakarta.

The temple was founded by the Mahayana Buddhists around the year 800 AD's during the reign of Sailendra dynasty.

Borobudur has the basic structure punden terraces, with a six-yard square, three round circular courtyard and a main stupa as a peak.

Also scattered in all the court was several stupas. Ten yard owned Borobudur illustrates clearly the Mahayana school of philosophy.

Like a book, Borobudur describes ten levels of Bodhisattva who must pass to reach the perfection of the Buddha.
